Gary Shapley, who previously testified to Congress as Republicans reviewed the business dealings of Joe Biden’s son, will be replaced by Deputy Treasury Secretary Michael Faulkender, according to the three people, who were not authorized to speak publicly about the move and spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity.
The 26-year-old was charged Tuesday in Hennepin County District Court with two felony firearms counts and two felony counts of threating violence. He already had a felony conviction for threats of violence, and was therefore prohibited from possessing a gun and ammunition, as well as two separate pending cases for violating restraining orders.
“If we hadn’t acted, the blast furnaces were gone, steel production in the U.K., primary steel producing, would have gone,” he said. “So we’ve given ourselves the opportunity, we are in control of the site, my officials are on site right now to give us a chance to do that.”
