“Australia has to manage a number of challenging relationships,” said Caitlin Byrne, a professor at Griffith University, in an interview with Australian Broadcasting Corp. “We have to invest really heavily in our diplomatic assets and make sure we are able to manage relationships across all fronts and, at the same time, not forget the important relationships we have right across Southeast Asia and in the Pacific.”
