The president has touted hundreds of billions of dollars in commitments from companies — including from prominent players such as SoftBank Group Corp., OpenAI, and Oracle Corp. — to help build data centers, chip manufacturing plants and other infrastructure to support AI. And he’s moved to expand domestic energy production, including mining and the use of coal in the US, saying it is essential to fueling energy-hungry data centers.
