“Mr. President, after three and a half years do you regret at all, all the lying you’ve done to the American people?”

That was the question asked by HuffPost White House correspondent S.V. Dáte on Thursday at President Donald Trump’s daily coronavirus news briefing.

Trump appeared to not completely hear the question.

“All the what?” he said.

“All the lying, all the dishonesty,” Dáte replied.

“Who has done?” Trump asked.

“You have done,” Dáte said.

The president paused for a moment and moved on to another reporter.

According to the Washington Post’s Fact Checker database, Trump made 20,055 false or misleading claims during his term as of July 9, an average of about 12 a day.

“For five years I’ve been wanting to ask him that,” Dáte tweeted after the briefing.
