SkyAlps has unveiled a new route connecting London Gatwick to Bolzano, providing UK travellers with an easier way to explore the renowned Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Italian boutique airline now offers twice-weekly flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays, featuring complimentary South Tyrolean wines, local delicacies, and no middle seats for a more comfortable journey.
Key Highlights of the New Route:
Time-Saving Travel
: The new route by SkyAlps offers a convenient shortcut to the Dolomites, with a flight time of approximately two hours. This significantly reduces transfer times compared to other airports such as Innsbruck and Venice. Bolzano’s smaller regional airport ensures quick security checks and stress-free return flights with shorter check-in times.
Seasonal Delights: Spring travellers can enjoy late-season skiing in the Dolomites, along with warmer temperatures and blossoming landscapes. Bolzano, rich in culture and cuisine, offers attractions such as the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology, the Fountain of Neptune, and the historic Piazza delle Erbe. As the ski season ends, numerous hiking trails and outdoor activities become accessible.
Scenic Flights: SkyAlps’ propeller planes fly at lower altitudes, never exceeding 25,000 feet, allowing passengers to enjoy stunning views of the Dolomites. This lower altitude can also reduce tiredness upon arrival and contributes to lower emissions, offering a reduced climate impact.
Local Culinary Experience: Onboard, passengers can indulge in a premium complimentary menu featuring South Tyrolean wines from 48 local producers, with four quality wines showcased monthly. The in-flight snacks, such as full-fat yoghurt and fennel-flavoured Schüttelbrot, provide a taste of Italian regional specialities.
SkyAlps’ new route not only offers a faster, more enjoyable travel experience but also showcases the best of South Tyrolean hospitality and the natural beauty of the Dolomites.
