IRCTC posts profit jump of 30.4% for Q4FY23 at Rs 278.80 crore, announces 100% final dividend

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) on Monday posted a fiscal fourth quarter profit at Rs 278.80 crore, up 30.4 per cent in comparison to Rs 213.78 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous year. It posted revenue from operations at Rs 965.02 crore, up 39.7 per cent as against Rs 690.96 crore in the fourth quarter of FY22. IRCTC EBITDA stood at Rs 324.6 crore, up 16.5 per cent on-year from Rs 278.5 crore in Q4FY22. 

The Board also recommended a final dividend of Rs 2 per equity share of face value of Rs 2 each for the financial year ended March 2023, at 100 per cent of the paid-up share capital of Rs. 160 crore. “This final dividend is in addition to the interim dividend of Rs 3.50 per share declared by the Board of Directors in the month of February 2023 and already paid to the shareholders,” it said in a regulatory filing. 

IRCTC’s performance across segments

IRCTC’s catering segment posted a revenue of Rs 395.78 crore, up 48.7 per cent from Rs 266.19 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Its rail neer segment recorded a revenue increase of 34.4 per cent on-year at Rs 73.37 crore during the quarter. It was Rs 54.60 crore during the fourth quarter of FY22. IRCTC’s internet ticketing segment recorded quarter revenue at Rs 295.12 crore in comparison to Rs 292.82 crore in Q4FY22. The tourism business, meanwhile, the tourism business revenue grew by 155.4 per cent on-year to reach Rs 138.54 during the fiscal fourth quarter as against Rs 54.25 crore last year. The state teertha segment clocked a revenue growth of 153.5 per cent to reach Rs 65.45 crore during the quarter as against Rs 25.82 crore in Q4FY22.
